About Texas Forensic Nurse Examiners

Hi, I'm Khara Breeden, DNP, MS, RN, SANE-A, SANE-P, AFN-BC.

My nursing career spans over 18 years with experience in critical care, emergency services, women’s health, and most currently, forensic nursing and academia. I started working at Harris Health as a Forensic Nurse Examiner in 2011, and immersed herself within the field. I saw a gap in forensic nursing services in the Harris County and surrounding areas and created a non-profit, community based program, now known as Texas Forensic Nurse Examiners.

Beginning in 2017 I started teaching courses in Forensic Nursing to further fill the gap in forensic nurses in communities across the United States. I have now taught over 20 courses including, SANE-A, SANE-P, SANE-A & SANE-P combined course, and the Clinical Skills Workshop.

This online Sane-A & Sane-P combined course was developed by myself, TXFNE staff, and other community partners and experts. This course is the only online Sane-A & Sane-P combined course approved by both the IAFN and Attorney General's Office of Texas.

TXFNE's Sane-A & Sane-P Combined
